The platforms, staircases, stair treads, gratings and handrail systems are often from FRP because of the corrosion / chemical resistance, durability and lightweight. Racks, buildings and other large constructions are often fixed to the utilization of steel because of the stiff properties, but need an expensive coating in these environment. All other constructions are carried out in FRP, so there is less maintenance required.
